Love Yourself

Hello Lovely People..
I have been very scarce lately, been running around keeping myself super busy, but always having fun while doing so. The past little while I have had something on my mind that to me is extremely important, LOVE YOURSELF. It is so so so important to love yourself, the person you are, your personality, your strengths, your weaknesses, your random little quirks and all your flaws. Good and bad, it all makes us who we are. Who cares if you are tall or short, fat or thin. Who cares if you have freckles on your nose or if you have scars. Its doesn't matter what you look like, you are beautiful! Everyone has beauty to them in their own way.

There are so many times when I have looked at other girls and thought to myself "I wish I had such a flat tummy" or "I wish I was that pretty" and the list goes on and on forever. But I have come to the realisation that that is who they are and this is who I am. I may not be the prettiest girl you have ever seen or have the best figure but I am perfectly fine with that. One day I will be the prettiest girl to a boy, he will love me even when we are both old and grey with wrinkles and tell me how beautiful I am to him. And that, is definitely something to look forward to.

I have always been a very self conscious person. I don't know what made me become like that but its something that I need to work on. We all have those things about ourselves that we need to work at constantly. No-one likes it when a person is over confident and thinks the world about themselves and no-one compares to them. BUT, there is absolutely nothing wrong with have confidence and feeling comfortable with who you are as a whole. Confidence is beautiful and attractive, people are drawn to you and you have a special something about you.

So what I think is we should all take the time to work on our flaws and weaknesses and turn them into strengths. Create positives out of the negatives that life throws our way, learn from mistakes and grow from the hard times but always cherish the positives and love the people you share the good times with. And no matter what always love who you are, don't listen to the nasty voices in your head and replace it all with something good :)

Dress for Success

I think that it's very important to put thought into what you are going to wear each day. Just like we put thought into all our other choices in life, the same must go for our clothing. Much too often we just slap anything together because we think "ahh its just a quick run to the shops", yes that may be true but we never know who we may bump into. Don't dress for the job you have now, dress for the career you want to have. Take me for example, I am a student so everyone expects students to wear weird things correct? But although I am a student I am an emerging Fashion Stylist and Image Consultant, now who would want me to style them and give them "expert advice" on dressing themselves if I didn't look well put together and polished? Its all about the message you want to put across to those around you without even having to say a word, that's definitely something for each of us to think of. Another thing we must take into consideration is religion. Some of us want to dress in a more modest, covered up way to show respect for not only ourselves but for our personal beliefs. Its one thing to dress a certain way at church on a Sunday but then the rest of the week we dress completely differently. I believe that fun can still be had while we are trying to be modest and live by our standards. :)

Just a few things to think of today :)

One of my favourite quotes because it is absolutely true!

A picture says a thousand words, we are all "pictures" to people we pass by on a daily basis, so lets make sure the thousand words we are portraying are good!

Have a fantastic weekend lovely people and don't forget to always think of the image of ourselves that we are portraying by our clothes.

Lets Play

"Fun" was the order of the week for me. I decided to be a little more playful and FUN with my outfits. I thought it would be cool to try a few different things but still sticking to my usual personal style. So what I did was I actually just really dug deep in my wardrobe and pulled out items that I haven't worn in a while. I tried to put things together in a way that I haven't put them before, so in the end, I was able to get "new" outfits from items that I may have actually had for a good few years by now. It's all about playing around and seeing what you think POPS!

We all want to be fashionable and trendy don't we? We want to walk into a room and have people think "WOW she looks awesome!" But we don't necessarily always have the budget for that, especially if you're a student and not earning your own money yet - never fear! Like I said, I have items in my wardrobe that have been there for years, some may even be from when I was 13 and they are still in perfect condition and look good. The trick is to pair these pieces with items that you may have bought recently that are "on trend". We must never lose ourselves to fashion. Yes it is the industry I am in, it is so much fun but on a personal level, always stick to who you are. Don't let fashion dictate who you are. We all follow fashion but what trumps that is our Style, that is who we are.

So now lets take a little look at how I had some fun...

I love this bolero I have on. Its the over the top ruffles that attracted my eye to it in the first place. Best thing about it? Chinese store bargain, ka-ching!I like how its able to just dress up a simple outfit and throw in a cute pair of heels and we have a winner. From this outfit, the newest item of clothing is the white tank top, other than that I've had everything else for a good few years!

When I woke up on this morning all I felt like was getting dressed up. I often have these random days. So I had class at 9am and thought ahh I might as well since I've woken up so super early! These leggings are my absolute favourite, it doesn't really show in the picture but the pattern is a silvery/gold, so they can go with a lot of different items. LOVE!

I am absolutely in love with this skirt. I love high waisted skirts and pants, they make me feel so feminine and lady like. So with this skirt everything about it is amazing! The silhouette, the fabric, the colours, the feel. You can dress it up and dress it down for a more casual look. Its one of those awesome versatile items that you can do SO many cool things with!

Hats away! There's something fun and playful about hats. What I love about this hat is I'm able to rock it with long or short hair, BONUS! Such a simple outfit for a lazy and comfy afternoon but just adding the lace waistcoat and the hat to the mix and we have a POP :)

This week, as summer is coming more and more prevalent I plan on having lots more fun with my outfits, who doesn't love summer clothes anyways?
So have fun, play around and don't forget to try cool new outfits with awesome older items you haven't worn in ages :)
